By the time we left the house for dinner, we were starving (we cleaned the entire house today). Driving towards the city, we were on Lane Cove Road, approaching Sambal (Malaysian Restaurant), so we decided to have dinner there and then later go to House for BTS. I had Char Koay Teow (imo best CKT in Sydney - Penang style), babs had Mamak Mee Goreng (awesome as well), and we shared the Mamak Rojak (the sauce was thick, full of flavour and very authentic!). All 3 dishes were very good!! Portions were huge! I couldnt finish the Char Koay Teow, so we took a doggy bag home (Babs lunch tomorrow). If you are looking for a nice Malaysian restaurant, this is it. So, the total bill came up to $47.40 (no drinks ordered except for the free sky juice).
Char Koay Teow $14.80
Mamak Mee Goreng $14.80
Mamak Rojak $17.80
Immediately after dinner, I drove straight to Surry Hills for BTS at House Thai Northeast Restaurant. AMAZING!!!! The brioche was toasted and extremely buttery, the pandan ice cream was light and the palm sugar syrup was thick and slightly salty to balance out the rich sweet taste of the dessert. Heavenly! I highly recommend this for those of you who love desserts. It is by far one of the best desserts I have had here. The portion size is quite generous (especially the ice cream), so it's enough to share between 2. I will definitely be back to try the food!
