4143 at the James Barnes, Alexandria

Wagyu Beef Burger with Beer Battered Chips $14

Ms. M bought me my birthday lunch at 4143 at the James Barnes in Alexandria - a new lunch venue which was just opened in May. (Thanks Ms. M!!) She rated the burger very well and I too agree with her. For a mere $14, the burger is awesome! The wagyu beef patty was so thick and juicy! It also had a generous emount of soft shredded beetroot, cheese and pickles. The buttery, soft, fluffy brioche buns that came with the burger was very fresh and delicious! OMG!!! Surprisingly, although the burger was huge, it was easy to eat and these were almost no spillage and oily fingers! The chips were also very good! Crunch crunch crunch!

Fish & Chips

Ms. M had the fish & chips, also for $14! The fish was the flathead and the chips were also beer battered. The dish came with a side of fresh garden salad and tartare sauce.

Bar Menu (also check out their bistro menu which we didn't use)

Ms. M also ordered a jug of cocktail for us to share but we didnt snap any photos of it - arghhh!!! There are about 5 types of cocktails served in jugs for $25/jug. The alcohol amount was quite low, sufficient and suitable for an afternoon drink :)

There was a few tables occupied when we arrived - late at about 1.30pm. The restaurant is huge and can seat alot of people. There is also a good space for out-door dining. Check this place out for a yummy affordable lunch!
